Unable to publish PayPal links (Links icon is not enabled on my pages)

How do I enable the icons for links directly on a page? I am trying publish PayPal links and have to add via a link on the page. However, the icons for both “insert/edit link” and “remove link” are not enabled.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
In order to enable the insert/edit link function, please select the text that you would like to hyperlink. Here’s a support guide on specific instructions:

Thank you for this information. Unfortunately, I still cannot get the PayPal buttons to come up on the “Buy The Books” page despite following all directions provided by you and in the “help” section. I can go to the “text” tab on the page and the “link” icon is available and allows me to cut/paste the PayPal button code/email there (I tried both), when I hit “update page” and try to view the button, it is no where to be found. Is it perhaps something in the formatting of the page?
Please advise. This is very frustrating. I’ve tried numerous times, following the directions carefully.
