Unable to Update my credit card for the NO ADS $30 a year charge.

  • Unknown's avatar

WP sent me an email to update my credit card so I could renew my $30 a year charge for NO ADS. When trying to do this with the email WP sent, it tells me I do not have an account, although I know I do have one because I am charged each year. How can I update this, as your email states, if your website says I do not have an account?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • I’m not seeing any upgrades associated with the WordPress.com user you are posting from nor do I see any associated with the site nancyhankinvb.wordpress.com.

Could this be an upgrade for a different WordPress.com site?

Well, all I did was reply to the email I received from Google and the link they sent me.nafter logging in, it said I had NO ACCOUNT which was strange because it stated on the email to make these updates in my account with step-by-step instructions.

Unfortunately, GOOGLE SUPPORT is non-existent and there is no way I could FORWARD the email back to them.

I guess that’s what happens when a company gets “too big for their own britches,” as my mother used to say. I wonder how Google feel if the tables were turned and there was no way for them to reach their clients/businesses.

Do you have more than one username account?

Do you have more than one site?

I am asking because this one https://nancyhankinvb.wordpress.com/ hasn’t had a post published in it since April 3, 2013

Yes. I have (3) WP websites.

It appears I no longer am hosted on WP for the site WP sent me and asked me to update it with a new credit card. It is hosted now with Arvixe. Sure would have saved me a lot of time if WP had not sent me this email in the first place. I guess your robotic system doesn’t know how to delete dead accounts.

  • You have to delete the site yourself if you are done with it. We do not delete sites just because someone is not actively posting to it. That would be a nightmare for us and the users. Many WordPress.com sites are static and rarely change. There would be no way for the system to know if a site was just inactive or actually left for dead.

If you let me know the URL of the site, I can look into the upgrade.

  • If you would like to delete your WordPress.com site, there are options and instructions for doing so here:

    Delete a Website

Please bear in mind that once deleted, that site’s WordPress.com URL will become permanently unavailable for future use. If you feel that you might need that URL again in the future, you might want to choose one of the other options listed on the the page linked above.

Please let me know if you have further questions or if anything is unclear.
