Unable to update plugins or upload media

Starting this morning, I have been unable to upload media or update plugins. I get errors like ‘file could not be uploaded because an error occurred while uploading.’ and in the console:
WebSocket connection to ‘wss://public-api.wordpress.com/pinghub/wpcom/me/newest-note-data’ failed: There was a bad response from the server.WP.com: Unknown

Hello, I’m sorry to hear that you are having trouble with your website. However, your site is not hosted with WordPress.com. It is a site using the open-source WordPress software (from WordPress.org) but hosted with DreamHost.
Because WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two entirely separate entities, we cannot access files or data for sites that are hosted elsewhere, so WordPress.com staff can only assist with sites that are hosted on our servers.
