Unable to visit site

  I have setup a wordpress.com website (not yet launched) but when I click ‘visit site’ from the dashboard I get the login screen, enter login credentials then wordpress just redisplays the coming soon screen. I have the correct login email address and have even reset my password, still no success. Any ideas ?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Hi –

  Please confirm which site URL this is happening on. It sounds like you aren’t signed in to your account when trying to view the site.

  If you can grab a screen shot that will give us confirmation on how to help. Add it to the media library for us to look at.

  Hi, thanks for your reply. It’s happening on the URL roydonherald.home.blog even when I am logged in and I press the “continue as <mylogin>, it just returns to the coming soon screen and the login button. Sorry can’t attach any screenshots, it won’t paste.

  So I’m definitely logged in but even if I press the Login button and rekey my login credentials it still takes me back to the coming soon screen with a login button. Any ideas please ?

  You can upload screenshots to https://wordpress.com/media if you’d like.

  Just to clarify though, what to do you see here?
  https://wordpress.com/view/roydonherald.home.blog

  Assuming you see a preview of your site like I do, if you click on “Visit Site” what do you see?

  Also, can you check to see whether you have the same issue in another browser?

  When I click on the link you quoted I see a preview of the site but when I click on “Visit Site” I see the “Something new is coming” screen so I clicked on the Login button and entered my login credentials but it takes me back to the “Something new is coming” screen, even when I click on “continue as community tester” it takes me back to the “Something new is coming” screen.

  OK, just tried Firefox and clicking “Visit Site” works, so problem with my Safari ? My site is marked as Private so how could you see a preview of the site ? Just need to check I have correctly kept it as Private while I work on it.

  Yes, and we’re figuring out how to work around that.

  Safari has an “Intelligent Tracking Protection” feature, which blocks cross-site tracking cookies. Since the WordPress.com cookie (which stores your login info) belongs to the wordpress.com domain, but https://roydonherald.home.blog/ belongs to the home.blog domain, Safari thinks the WordPress.com cookie is a cross-site tracker and blocks it.

  We have some ideas to work around this, hopefully we’ll have a fix soon.
