Unchecking "Comments" doesn't remove comment input box

  Hello,

  I tried to carefully RTFM and search here and there, I do not succeed to remove the “leave a comment” feature on my pages and/or articles.
  I unchecked the “comments” button in the page and unchecked all buttons in the “discussion” options page. No way.
  What did I do wrong, please ?

  Amazing.
  As usual, as soon as the question is posted, the answer is found.
  In a page, it is not the “Comments” box which should be unchecked in the “screen options” panel, it is a “allow comments” button which is displayed in the bottom of the page when the “discussion” button is checked… :-(

  Not obvious.

  In summary, if you are in the same [this space intentionally left blank] situation, go to your page, click the “Screen Options” tab on the up right corner of your screen, check the “Discussion” button, then scroll down to the “Allow comments” button and uncheck it.

  Voilà.
