Uncrawlable taskbar at bottom right corner
-
I have run the google dev tools for my website and it is saying ‘links are not crawlable’. The only problem in the code highlighted is the following:
After inspecting the code I have found out that this code is coming from the task bar on the bottom right corner that says Customize, Edit, Stat. If I am not logged in this bar says Follow. This is not part of my website, it is an intrinsic property of WordPress themes. My question is, can this one uncrawlable link be the reason why my website is not indexed by Google? Is there any way to remove this task bar? -
Hi there,
I’m not sure what you mean by “links not crawlable” in this case, but the floating follow menu is not the issue in this case. I can see about 2-3 weeks ago you switched your site from ‘private’ to ‘public’ and this can be an issue as it takes Google 4-6 weeks to update their search index, so they may still show your site as blocked when it no longer is set that way.
With this in mind I recommend that you register your site with Google directly to encourage them to crawl it more frequently. You can do that by following the steps here: https://wordpress.com/support/webmaster-tools/#google-search-console
Hope that helps. Please let us know if you have any more questions.
