Undo Site Change For WordPress.com Hosted Blog
-
My blog is hosted on WordPress.com. Earlier today, I changed the site URL from gbscholars.wordpress.com to gbscholarship.wordpress.com, just to see what would happen. I just started this blog on Friday, and only have 2 pages created at this point. After switching today, I realized this name is just too long and wanted to move back to gbscholars.wordpress.com (I didn’t delete it, so it is still mine), but I can’t figure out how to do this. When I go through the same process I did to switch it in the first place, it says I can’t change it, since the site I am requesting is already taken (it’s mine) . Help?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

7. The final option presented on this screen allows you to discard your current address. This option will permanently disable the address and you will not be able to reuse it. Only select this option if you are sure you will not use the address again. If you want to redirect traffic to the new blog, you can keep the address and purchase the Site Redirect upgrade. http://en.support.wordpress.com/changing-blog-address/

I didnt discard the old address, so it was not permanently disabled.
What you are suggesting is what a person would do if they had an old site with a bunch of traffic, changed the old site to a new site name, wanted to use the new name and didn’t want to lose the traffic.
I don’t have any of these issues. I had an old site with no traffic (its been live for 2 days), changed the old site to a new site name, now want to change the name back to the old site name.
I don’t think I need to pay for this service – there’s no traffic to transition. Nobody comes to this blog.

Does http://gbscholars.wordpress.com/ appear under your blog list on the grey Admin bar when you hover over your username?

Yes, it appears in my dashboard, and yes, if you go to the URL, it exists. I want to move the content from gbscholarship.wordpress.com back to gbscholars.wordpress.com. Can’t do it.

Go to Tools->Export on the dashboard of the blog with the contents, export it. On the blog that’s empty go to Tools->Import and import it.
