Unlocking Domain and EPP

  I deleted my WordPress membership for a refund shortly after making it in January, and I elected to keep my domain. Now I’m working on transferring it to BlueHost but it’s locked and I can’t get to it because I don’t have access to domain management on WordPress.

  That domain is under a different account than the one you are contacting us from. Please post in this thread from the account that owns the domain, and we’ll be able to further assist.

  This is the only account that I have. I specifically went back in my email and looked at the link. I did cancel my membership so that might be causing the issues, but I have no records of another account and I need to free up my domain…

  To be clear, I can log into JoshMakesThings.com WordPress site on BlueHost, where I transferred the domain to. However, I’m trying to complete that transfer and I get the following info on BlueHost:

  ” The EPP Authorization code must be obtained from the current registrar (Automattic Inc.) for the domain joshmakesthings.com. The EPP Authorization code is used to verify that you have access to the existing domain registration. The transfer cannot proceed without this code. Once you have obtained the code, please type it in the field above, and click “Continue” ”

  I log into my old WordPress account and I have no option to get the EPP anymore.

  Hi there,

  You are posting here as the WordPress.com username, joshbeychok0f433ac2ce. You created this account on 23 January, and have never created any sites or bought any upgrades with this account. The only site listed in this account is a Bluehost site, connected through the Jetpack plugin on 23 January.

  The domain, joshmakesthings.com, was registered on 22 January, a full day before you created this account, using a completely different WordPress.com username account associated with a different email than your joshbeychok0f433ac2ce account. Only that account has the ability to unlock the domain and request a transfer code, so you’ll need to log into that account first in order to do this.
