Unpark my domain please!

As every one else has said on here. It appears the domain I have purchased after I cancelled it. I want to get access. Can you help?

    Thank you!

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • Is this regarding the URL: sweetsoul.blog?

Yes it is! I originally bought that domain but then cancelled it since the blogger website package wasn’t included. Is there a way it can be reopened and I can claim it for my current blogger website?

And the blogger website that I purchased is actually currently under the name sweetsoul771478197.wordpress.com

Not sure if that matters, but just in case it does.

    Thank you so much!

  • So, just to make sure that we’re on the same page…

It looks like you purchased the Blogger plan, set up the sweetsoul.blog domain, canceled the Blogger plan and got a refund, then purchased another Blogger plan and you would now like to use the sweetsoul.blog domain again with the new Blogger plan on WordPress.com?

    Am I understanding correctly?

I’m pretty sure that I originally only purchased the domain sweetsoul.blog, and not the blogger plan. But then after that, I realized that if I bought the blogger plan, that domain would be included free for one year and I’d only have to pay the domain fee if I wanted to continue the blog after the first year. Does that make sense what I did? So basically I cancelled the domain purchase because I didn’t think that it came with a website, so then I just bought the blogger plan that includes the website but the domain I wanted had been taken already and parked— by me! Let me know if this makes sense and thank you again!

  • Hi there,

The better option here would have been to buy the Blogger plan, and then you could have contacted support to link the domain to your plan and get a refund for the separate domain payment.

But when you cancel a domain, you stop owning it, and cancelled domains are not released immediately, taking anything from a few days to over a year before it becomes available again, if at all.

I’ve now restored your domain, and connected it to the site where you bought the Blogger plan. Please keep in mind going forward to never cancel a domain you still want to use. It’s possible to move domains between sites, users, and even different providers, without ever cancelling it. But the moment you cancel you run the risk of not being able to get it back again.

I understand now and should I ever be in a similar situation, I’ll do just what you described instead of what I did! Thank so much for your help and for reconnecting my website with my domain!

  • You are very welcome :) And we will be here if you need us in the future.
