unrecorded 'visitors' and 'views'

    Why, at the first of this month, did WordPress suddenly quit catching and reporting ‘visitors’ to, and ‘views’ of, my static blog? When I noticed the trend, I performed some experiments, pulling the blog up on several ‘neutral’ computers–that is, computers other than my own. None of the ‘hits’ registered in my stats. I had others pull up the site. None of their ‘hits’ registered, either. Why?
