Error message: ‘Unfortunately this page may not work correctly in your browser.’ My computer isn’t old. This has never happened in all the years I’ve been writing this blog. Running Safari 13.1.2 on Mac.

It is not okay. That photograph is supposed to be landscape. It’s been stretched and cropped to profile view. Click the image and see how it’s supposed to look.
-
Hm, I do see a difference between Safari 15 and Firefox 92 when rendering that image, yes.
This appears to be due to the age of your theme, which was discontinued years ago.
Have you considered switching to a newer theme? https://wordpress.com/themes
-
Wow. It was such a great theme. Don’t understand why you would let it go. I’ve written everything, coordinated photos, text color schemes, etc. to that theme. If I change it, it could throw off everything. Right? It affects every post I have designed, right?

Hm, that’s odd and unexpected.
Is there a difference if you change the width of the image (to anything as long as it’s not full size, even just 90%)? https://wordpress.com/support/wordpress-editor/blocks/image-block/#resize-images

Ahhh… This is wild. The way I fixed the two images that were distorted in my “My Characters” blog post Safari view was to go back and:
Image #1 (which was cut off and manipulated into landscape to portrait), I selected “crop image” under gallery settings.
Image #2 ([the Uncle Wiggily game board], which was oversized and cropped in the view), I had to deselect “crop image” to make it work.
Would you please check and see if Firefox does something weird with either one of those photos, making them not authentic views? -
No, looking good now in Firefox 92 and Safari 15!
Thanks for trying that! This will give us something more specific to look into.

Okay, now I’m trying to write a new post, and I can’t edit the draft. This is the error message: The editor has encountered an unexpected error.
Does this also have to do with my Safari 13.1.2 incompatibility? I had only added the title and first paragraph, then previewed it. Went back, and now I can’t insert the next 2400 words and photos.
This is so frustrating.
Thanks for any help.

Hi there!
Sorry to hear about the issues you’re facing. We’d love to help you out and we appreciate your patience while we try and troubleshoot this.
Do you happen to have another browser on your computer that you could temporarily try and see if the post editor works there? I’m trying to understand if the editor showing the error is specific to Safari or if it throws the same error regardless of which browser you’re editing in.
Please try a different browser (Firefox or Chrome, for example) and let us know how it goes.
Thanks again!

I tried Chrome, but wordpress wouldn’t let me log into my account. I tried six ways to Sunday, and my password didn’t work.
-
Okay, I finally was able to login on Chrome. And the problem still exists. So maybe it isn’t my browser at all. I’ll delete the post and try to reconstruct it again.
-
It’s working now. I have uploaded and revised my post draft, and will finish it in the morning before posting. Thank you.
-
It’s happening again. I posted it incomplete, and now I can’t edit, on either Safari or Chrome. I can edit my other posts, but not the one I just created. I need to complete it —don’t one an incomplete post. But I don’t want to delete and start over, as I have put hours of work into it. Please help.

I waited overnight. I still can’t edit in either browser, and my blogpost is already getting comments, and it’s not complete. I even tried to edit on my iPad, but no use. I keep getting that same error message:
“The editor has encountered an unexpected error.”
It only happens on my latest post. I can edit any of the others from the past. -
