Unwanted WordPress post

About Us suggestion and example appears at the bottom of my blog. I want it gone. I did not write it and I already have an “About” page. I pay for an “Ads free” blog. Here is what it says:

Did you know you can write your own about section just like this one? It’s really easy. Navigate to Appearance → Widgets and create a new Text Widget. Now move it to the Footer 1 sidebar.
A wonderful serenity has taken possession of my entire soul, like these sweet mornings of spring which I enjoy with my whole heart. I am alone, and feel the charm of existence in this spot, which was created for the bliss of souls like mine. I am so happy, my dear friend, so absorbed in the exquisite sense of mere tranquil existence, that I neglect my talents. I should be incapable of drawing a single stroke at the present moment; and yet I feel that I never was a greater artist than now.

The widgets at the bottom of your blog are the default footer widgets for your Linen theme. You can changing them by adding either a different widget each of the footer widget areas.
If you add a blank text widget, the existing widget will disappear. Though the white “widget area” box will remain.
Does that make sense?
