Update Redirect Location

  I have the site redirect upgrade. But I need to update my redirect location to waynewandering.com I don’t see the Update Redirect Location Button anywhere in the Store-My Domains area as shown in the wordpress help section.

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Hi there!

  I see a Domain Mapping upgrade for waynesurf.com on your site currently. Are you trying to map the domain waynewandering.com to your site instead of waynesurf.com? Or do you want them both mapped to your site?

  I’m changing the domain name of the blog to waynewandering.com. I’m trying to make this my main domain now instead of waynesurf.com

  I’d like for anyone that enters in the old address, waynesurf.com to be forwarded to the new name, waynewondering.com

  In other words, in my blog everything that’s currently on it will stay the same except for the new name, waynewondering.

  Okay! Do you already own waynewandering.com through another registrar?

  If you do, you’ll want to add a new Domain Mapping upgrade. You can do that here:

  https://wordpress.com/domains

  Select “Map an Existing Domain”.

  Then you’ll need to update your name servers to the following:

  • NS1.WORDPRESS.COM
  • NS2.WORDPRESS.COM
  • NS3.WORDPRESS.COM

  Here’s GoDaddy’s instructions for doing this:

  I’ve decided it will make sense not to keep waynesurf.com and instead go into my existing Domain Mapping Upgrade and change waynesurf.com to to waynewondering.com

  I’m seeing that this is possible in the online help forums but the “Update Redirect Location” button does not appear in my interface as it does in the screenshots I’m referencing. Is there somewhere else I need to look? I’m currently following the steps under the updating site redirect at:

  This is because you don’t have a Site Redirect. You have Domain Mapping.

  I’m happy to change your Domain Mapping instead of you purchasing a second one. But your domain waynesurf.com will no longer redirect to your site then.

  Just let me know what you’d like to do.

  Alright! I’ve made that change for you. Just make sure your name servers are updated and you should be good to go!

  Since I changed the domain manually, you may need to reset your primary domain:

  Domains
