    Hi,

I work for a client using a Php of 5.2 and wants to upgrade to 5.6 – she’s worried because her site crashes. I have gone over your website but there’s too much information to absorb, please tell me all the things I need to know to be able to have that upgrade smoothly. What will I expect? She received an notification telling her that
” An updated version of WordPress is available.
You cannot update because WordPress 5.6 requires PHP version 5.6.20 or higher. You are running version 5.5.38.

This localised version contains both the translation and various other localisation fixes. You can skip upgrading if you want to keep your current translation.

You cannot update because WordPress 5.6 requires PHP version 5.6.20 or higher. You are running version 5.5.38.

You can update to WordPress 5.1.8–en_US automatically:” —- not really so sure about this.

This is my client’s website http://nambouryogacentre.com.au/. What can we lose? What can we have?

Thank you so much, hoping to hear from you soon.

  • Hi there,

You’re in the wrong forum. Your site is using the open-source WordPress software and therefore you need to seek help at these forums:

    https://wordpress.org/support/forums/

These forums are for WordPress.com hosted sites only. If you want to know more about the differences between WordPress.com and the WordPress software you can read this document:
