  We are trying to update my website but we get an error sign when trying to log in to wordpress

  I created a new password/account to see if that would help so it is probably not matching what you all have in the past…

  But, are you using /wp-admin to log in?

  If that isn’t working, your host may be able to help you make backups and use one of these recovery options:
  https://wordpress.org/support/article/resetting-your-password/

  As long as you can log into your hosting account, you should be able to regain access. If you need more help, head to to the forums for self-hosted sites at https://wordpress.org/support
