Upgrade

  • Unknown's avatar

I am a brand new user. I just paid for the premium package as well as a domain, which i know understand should have been included in the upgrade. I do not seem to have access to the other upgraded items either.I have also been shown some offer for a reduced rate of the premium item i just purchased. Confused and frustrated…

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi there,

I’m very sorry for the confusion and frustration. Your WordPress.com Premium upgrade and domain are currently linked to this blog: http://lauradrummond.com/

You can check those upgrades by going Store > My Upgrades in that blog’s dashboard here: https://lauradrummonddotcom.wordpress.com/wp-admin/paid-upgrades.php?page=my-upgrades

Just to clarify, that’s separate from the other blogs you own at these addresses:

I checked your account, and the reason you were charged separately for the domain is that you originally purchased the WordPress.com Premium plan on a separate blog. (Those upgrades are per-blog, so the free domain has to be registered on the same blog that has the WordPress.com Premium plan.)

If you’d like, I can link your domain to your Premium plan now, and refund your domain registration payment. Alternately, you can use the domain credit in your Premium plan to register a second domain. Just let me know which you prefer. :)

Thanks very much for your prompt and helpful reply.
After posting my challenge last night, I was able to figure out that premium was on different blog account and switch it over myself.

I would really appreciate having the domain linked to my premium account and refunded as per your suggestion.
I only want the one blog on lauradrummond.com so i assume I can simply delete the others?

Sure thing! Your domain is now part of your Premium plan, and I issued a full refund for the domain purchase. (You should see that refund appear on your credit card within about a week.)

I only want the one blog on lauradrummond.com so i assume I can simply delete the others?

You can certainly delete the others if you don’t want them. Just as a quick warning, deleting a blog is permanent and can’t be undone, and the free WordPress.com address for a deleted blog can’t ever be used by you or anyone else in the future. If you’re sure you want to delete the blogs, you can follow the instructions here: Delete Site

As another option, you can make the sites private and hide them from your dashboard. In that case, you’ll always be able to use them again in the future if you change your mind.
