  If I upgrade my free website to a plan does my existing website remain as is (just without ads) or do I have to create an entirely new website?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  With an upgraded plan your existing content doesn’t change unless you want it to. The Personal plan would give you the ability to remove the ads, along with more storage for images etc (and the option of a custom domain address).
  The Premium plan would give you further options of customization and choice of themes.
