Upgrading

I am contemplating upgrading to 6GB storage as I have filled my 3GB quota on my blog. This has only taken 6 months. Logically this problem will repeat in 6 months hence. Does this mean I will need to pay the $4 subscription indefinitely to maintain historical posts? Or will I be forced to upgrade to $8 at that point to get 13GB and be faced with the same problem after another year?

Hi there, please let us know the address of the site you need help with so we can take a look.

In general, yes, if you max out your 3GB free storage, you’ll need to upgrade and you’ll need to maintain your WPcom site upgrade plan to continue uploading new images.

But if you are filling up 3GB of media storage within 6 months it sounds like you are uploading your images straight from your camera or smartphone without resizing and optimizing them first. Many large images also have a negative impact on your site’s loading time. Have a look at our guide https://en.support.wordpress.com/media/image-optimization/
