Upgrading from free account to premium account

    Hi, I have a free WordPress account through Dreamhost and I would like to upgrade to a premium membership with WordPress. How do I do that?

    Hi there, if your website is hosted with Dreamhost, you’ll want to approach them directly for any upgrade to that site. You do not need to upgrade here on WordPressdotcom.

    Just to clarify, WordPress comes in 2 flavors: the fully hosted WordPressdotcom platform (where we are ) and the open source WordPress software at https://wordpress.org that you can install on a 3rd party hosting service, like Dreamhost. This support guide explains some of the differences between them: https://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

    In general, for help with a site using the open source WordPress software, you’ll want to head over to https://wordpress.org/support where they have more experience with the software you are using. If you don’t have a username on the ORG forums you can register one on the top of that page.
