  I do not understand how to upgrade to a better php. I am so confused as I do not understand the lingo, what type of system I am on or anything!

  This account is only 3 minutes old and has no website on the wordpress.com platform. It would be of great help I we could know the URL of your site.
  If your site is on the wordpress.com, you don’t need to worry about those things. If your site is using the open source wordpress.org, you need to contact your hosting.
