Upload demo program to website

I am a program developer and want to upload Demo program to the website for the users to try it. Just want to find out how to achieve that if I use the website created by wordpress as it seems that only certain file types are allowed. Regards, Bo

From what you say, it’s hard for me to determine what it is you want to do.
If you only want to provide a download link to your program, you are correct that only certain file types are allowed to be uploaded here. If you have a Premium or Business upgrade, you can upload audio, video and zip files. Alternatives for download links can include off-site services like dropbox, box, drive, etc.
If you wish to do more beyond only providing a download link, like run the program demo on the site, WordPressdotcom will not be a good fit. You might want to look at running a self-hosted WP site. More about that here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

justjennifer, thanks for your replies and what I want to do is to upload mt demo program (for example, setup.exe) to the website serve for users to download it. It seems that I need to convert into zip file first before I can upload or I have to either reply on the external download link (like dropbox, drive, etc) or self-hosted site. Thanks again.
