uploaded header does not appear

  I am trying to upload a new header image, I can browse to the file on my computer but the image does not appear so cannot be used. This works for the WordPress hosted site and when I do it for a localhost site, but when I try on a web hosted site it doesn’t. I can upload files into posts and the media library, also backgrounds so it is not just a general upload problem. I am using Windows 7 and IE9.

  So, if I understood correctly, you are asking about a self-hosted site? If so, please ask your question at http://wordpress.org/support/ We may all have WordPress in our name, but it isn’t the same. http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
