uploading images to media library

    I have over 400 images in my WP media library but I’m now not able to upload them. I’m given the message ‘Sorry but you can’t upload an image with this specification,’ or something similar. I’m not aware of having changed anything to the file type. I work through Adobe Bridge and Photoshop and the images I want to add to the Media library are exported from Photoshop to the Desktop as jpegs in the usual way. Help and advice appreciated.
