uploading ppt slide show

I want to upload a PowerPoint slide show. I do not see a way I can do that.

.ppt, .pptx, .pps, .ppsx (Microsoft PowerPoint Presentation) are accepted file types. http://en.support.wordpress.com/accepted-filetypes/

Thank you for the information, but it didn’t work. All that was displayed in the post was a link, not the contents of the file. I did both a ppt and a pdf upload from my computer and neither worked.

Well, YES it worked. They were uploaded successfully, and linked successfully. If you want them to actually display inline in your site, you can’t just upload them as files. You need to use something else, like Scribd or Slideshare.

Raincoaster, unfortunately, while you were initially right and the files did display properly in Firefox when a link was clicked, they don’t after having been revised and reuploaded to the media gallery. Now Firefox will not display them at all.
This function appears to be buggy or requires some info it doesn’t tell you it needs. Unsatisfactory.

Thanks for sharing. As soon as I become a WordPress developer I’ll get right on addressing that.

Sorry about being techy. I am tired and frustrated. I think I crack it and them I make a small alteration and it stops working.

They are displayed in the same post. I don’t know what the final “2” is in the url for the second file stands for, as it isn’t in the original file name.

Raincoaster, I must have done something different the second time but I have absolutely no idea what it could have been. I “think” all I did was reupload the files into the gallery with slightly different file names after deleting the earlier uploads from the gallery and the links from the post. There is apparently something else I need to do, but I have absolutely no idea what. Even if you can’t fix it, thanks for helping.

No, those are PDF files, not PPT files. The 2 is because you already uploaded that same file once, so WP.com automatically adds the 2.
I can see the files perfectly. They look fine to me, actually.

I altered the file format because I realized that I couldn’t restrict editing sufficiently in PPT. So, I used the pdf file format instead.
If you can see them, I wonder why my browser that once displayed them perfectly now doesn’t.
