Urgent account access issue
-
Hello,
We have lost access to our WordPress.com account and urgently need assistance because a domain renewal deadline is approaching.
When we try to sign in using the email login link, we are redirected out of the account or back to the main page without being logged in. When we try to sign in using the password, WordPress.com requests an SMS verification code, but the code never arrives. The telephone number associated with the account has not changed.
We have already submitted the official account recovery form and also contacted support by email. More than 24 hours have passed, but we have not yet received a response. We understand that account recovery may require verification, but the domain connected to the account needs to be renewed urgently, and we are concerned that it may expire while the recovery request is still pending.
We created this separate WordPress.com account only to ask for guidance in the public support forum.
Could a WordPress.com staff member please advise us on the following?
- Is it possible to escalate the existing account recovery request because of the urgent domain renewal deadline?
- Is there a way to renew the domain temporarily while account ownership verification is still in progress?
- Which secure and private channel should we use to provide proof of ownership, previous billing records, transaction details, or other verification documents?
For security reasons, we have not included the account email address, telephone number, domain name, payment information, or recovery request details in this public post. We can provide all necessary information privately to an authorized WordPress.com staff member.
Thank you for your assistance.

Hi there,
If you need to recover access to the account, and you are familiar with the email/username used, you can try to reset the password: https://wordpress.com/wp-login.php?action=lostpassword
If you no longer have access to the email address associated with your WordPress.com account and can’t log in, the next best step is to complete the Account Recovery Form: Account Recovery Form
Provide as much information as possible, such as transaction IDs, activation links, backup codes, or anything else that could help prove ownership. Check this guide for reference: Account Recovery Guide.
Please let me know if that method worked for you.
