  The URL would be ok if it were (email visible only to moderators and staff),
  But having podcastpodcast is not reasonable and I can not see how to change it other than the purchase of a URL, which I can’t do at this time.

  You can change your site address by following the steps here: https://wordpress.com/en/support/changing-site-address/

  You won’t be able to use an address that’s already in use or was used before. So you will have to find an address that’s available. Can you try following the steps at the link above and let me know if you have more questions?
