  Hello,

  I have used wordpress for a couple different blogs in the past and thankfully never ran into this issue but I just started a daily music blog that I was hoping to name New Wave Music. After trying to claim the url newwavemusic.wordpress.com I discovered it was already taken and looked up that website to see one that really hasn’t been used at all and has laid dormant since 2009 without a single post to its name. I was really hoping to claim that url if at all possible and was hoping there might be some way or some loophole that might allow me to use it. Thanks!

  I’m afraid that address is unavailable as it is owned by someone else. There must be thousands of similar parked free sites. I have a few sites without content like that myself that I may or may not use in the future. But I would be mightily peeved if WordPress.com took them from me just because someone else liked the look of the addresses.
