Use domain name bought elsewhere

I bought my domain name on namecheap.com, I went in and added ns1.wordpress.com and ns2.wordpress.com and ns3.wordpress.com but when I try to purchase the upgraded plan with my domain name I keep getting the response that that domain is already taken. How can I set up my webpage with my domain name?

When I try to buy the upgraded plan with my dreamkeyfinancial.com domain name I receive the error message “This domain already exists and cannot be registered.” and it will not let me proceed. But I purchased the domain name through namecheap. Please help.

Hi there,
If the domain is registered elsewhere, you will need to add the ‘domain mapping’ option. You won’t be able to register that domain here as it’s already registered with namecheap.com.
Can you try adding domain mapping? You can do so from your Domains page here:
