Use the same domain name when rebuilding site on .org

  Hi! I am creating a website at wordpress.org for a customer. A customer that right now has a site on wordpress.com. They want to keep the web address / domain name they are currently using at the new site.

  Is this possible and how do I do this?

  I havn’t worked with wordpress.com previously.

  So you want to move away from WordPress.com to a site hosted elsewhere using the WordPress.org software? See: https://move.wordpress.com/

  If your client has a domain name registered with us they can transfer the domain to another provider, should they choose:

  https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/move-domain/
