User does not exist
-
I was logged out of my account and tried to log back in using “406pix.wordpress.com”. I’m getting the message “User does not exist.” Also tried using my Gmail account with the same result.
-
Perhaps you should be using the 406pix account rather than this new account you set up ten minutes ago?
-
For some reason a new account was created when I was posting on the forum. It’s using same account name that my original account was set up as. It’s almost as if my original account has been deleted.
-
What happens if you use your original username and password here: https://wordpress.com/log-in
-
-
You’ve got to use that link when completely logged out of the account you are currently posting from. If that still doesn’t work then you probably need to clear cache and cookies too.
-
Cache & cookies cleared, logged out, even restarted laptop: Same thing happens. Oddly enough, I can see my old site and all the entries but can’t log into it to create more. I will rebuild it. Thanks for your help.
-
Sorry I wasn’t any help but didn’t you originally set up your site with this account rather than the one you continue posting from: https://en.forums.wordpress.com/profile/406pix
-
I did set my original account up with “406pix.wordpress.com,” but when I go to log in, that’s when the “user doesn’t exist” message comes up. I don’t even get the chance to enter a password.

Hi there,
Please log out and log in using the username, 406pix, NOT 406pix.wordpress.com. 406pix.wordpress.com is your site address, not your username. You cannot use a site address to log in, only a username (406pix) or an email address.

Please don’t post into old threads created by other users. It is also impossible to help you without any details about the site/sites you’re speaking of.
