User name

  I am going to purchase a domain however the same name exists at wordpress.com. Will I be able to use that user name when I comment on people’s blogs or will it go to the original owner of the wordpress.com even though I own the domain name?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Sorry, I want to purchase casacaldwell.com & it is available, however there is a casacaldwell.wordpress.com (not mine) so when I sighed up for wordpress it made me as user name CaldwellCasa. If I purchase casacaldwell.com & i start to comment on other peoples blogs, will I be under the user name CaldwellCasa or will it link to my new domain CasaCaldwell- regardless of that other person’s account. I’m quite new so I don’t want to purchase the domain if it won’t say the correct name. Thanks!

  If you do not own http://casacaldwell.wordpress.com and cannot buy it from the owner, your username won’t ever link there.

  Register a different url of the form whatever.wordpress.com and just buy domain mapping and the custom domain you want. The underlying URL is irrelevant: it only shows in media file URLs.
