User name and passwords problems

    I tried to change my settings to allow my picture to display when commenting on WirdPress sites – but the user Name, my email addresses and passwords weren’t accepted and I’ve been going in circles trying to get the Word Press site to recognise my user name in conjunction with one of my two email addresses and to allow me to reset. it. In the end I gave up and on a whim logged on to my profile page using Google Account. My Usr name in my records is greg1711 – I also tried GreginLondon which I’ve used on a number of other sites but although the first seems to be accepted it doesn’t show up on my WordPress profile and when I try to change my User name in the profile the page teems me that I can’t use either of them. I very much doubt that anyone else has used these – How can I recover these log in details and passwords?

    Hi there, I do see that the greg1711 username is active. I searched for greginlondon, and that username/account does not exist in our system.

    I found https://greginlondon.wordpress.com/, which is owned by the gsuralik username. Is that your account also?

    The reason that the greginlondon username cannot be used is that there is a site here at WordPress.com with that username. When this is the case, the username is marked as unusable since it could cause confusion as the site with that same name would be under a different owner.
