User profiles

Hello. How can I add a feature that allows users to create their own profile?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there, Is flybookclub.wordpress.com the site you need help with? If so, to the best of my knowledge, each user on your WordPressdotcom site needs to register and create their own WordPressdotcom profile. If they wish to register but not sign up for a website, they can register at this link: https://wordpress.com/start/account/user/
If afterwards, and as long as you are on either the Business or Ecommerce plan, you can add a Membership plugin, but users will still need to create a WordPressdotcom profile first.

https://en.support.wordpress.com/using-membership-plugins/I’m also tagging this thread for Staff input for clarification on the instructions mentioned in the second support guide on membership plugins. STAFF: does the user need to install a membership plugin prior to proceeding with the directions mentioned under “Setting a Password in WP-Admin”? When I click on my profile in WP Admin, I’m taken to the New Dash> https://wordpress.com/me
Thanks.

Yes, that entire support page only applies if you already have a membership plugin installed and activated on the site.

@kokkieh – thanks for clarifying and could that be mentioned on that page so as to make it clear there as well? :)
@achaljindal – rather than post into someone else’s unrelated thread, please create your own support thread by posting at https://wordpress.com/help/contact and make sure to indicate which site you need help with. Thanks. -
@justjennifer, I’m not sure what needs to be clarified. That page is not for membership sites in general, but both the title and page introduction indicate it’s specific to sites using plugins. So it seems redundant to me to add an instruction there that one needs to install a plugin before following those instructions.
But I’ll take this to our docs team so they can take a look.

That page is not for membership sites in general,
Sorry, but it wasn’t obvious to me. :)
It could be clarified by changing this from:
For these plugins to work effectively, it may be necessary to change some settings on your site to support a membership flow.
to:
Once you have installed a membership plugin, for these plugins to work effectively it may be necessary to change some settings on your site to support a membership flow.
Thanks for listening.
