User role Author cannot save as draft

I gave a guest blogger ‘author’ role. She says she can log in to wordpress, see my site, and then write a blog post, but it won’t allow her to save it. I don’t see her posts as drafts on my end either. I tried changing her permission and resetting the jetpack connection. Another guest blogger is able to save her drafts and post on my site with the ‘author’ role.
