    Hi! I don’t want my username linked to one of my blogs – will it be public? Can I avoid it being published somehow?

    Hi there,

    Usernames are always public in WordPress, whether you’re using WordPress.com or the open source version made on WordPress.org.

    You can set a display name for your site that will show as the author to your posts and comments, but if someone were to hover their mouse over that display name, they’ll see your site’s author URL which contains the username instead, and the username can also be seen by viewing the site’s source code directly in the browser.

    If you don’t want your current username to be linked to a particular blog, you’ll need to create a different account with its own username to manage that blog instead.
