Username and logging in

  I am a new blogger. When I signed up my username was rogdave21. I tried signing in but was unable to do it. Finally I was able to, but now my username has been changed to rogdave21rogdave21. I do not want this change.

  What will happen if I change it back to what it is supposed to be? Why did this happen.

  I was unable to sign in with either my username or my email address.

  I would like to simply change my user name back to rogdave21, but the warnings against this are dire, and I don’t understand what they mean, so I am afraid to do so. Also, I do not understand how or why this change in my username came about.

  Once you change your username you will not be able to change it back and the old name will not be available for you or anyone to use. If you just want to show your name differently please only change your Display Name. http://en.support.wordpress.com/change-your-username/

  I have flagged this for staff, because your username should not change on its own.
