I recently started working for a company, that has a wordpress-powered website and I got the task of managing the website, but the username and password are long lost, because the person, who made the webpage, doesn’t work for the company anymore. I wanted to ask how would it be possible to get the username and password back?

That’s a WordPress.org install. WordPress.com and WordPress.org are completely separate and different. I’m sorry but we cannot help you here at WordPress.com with that site as it’s not being hosted by WordPress.com and we run on different software. This is the correct forum for your software http://wordpress.ORG/support/ If you have not registered a WordPress.org username account yet you can do so on the top right hand corner of the page I just linked to so you can post to those support forums.
