Using a .US domain

I’d like to understand two things:

1/ Am I able to move a .US domain to WordPress? It seems like this type of domain may not be supported, but I wanted to be sure.

2/ If I’m not able to move it to WordPress, can I connect it to WordPress and still have email forwarding, so that specific @barra.us email addresses can be forwarded to different emails?

    WP.com: Yes
    Jetpack: No
    Correct account: Yes

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi there!

I’ll be happy to answer your questions today!

We don’t support incoming domain transfers for .us domains. But you can use it via Domain Connection, which lets you use any domain you already own with another registrar.

After you add your domain via Domain Connection, you’ll have a couple of options to point your domain to WordPress.com. If you use the WordPress.com nameservers on your domain to point it to WordPress.com, you’ll be able to use the Email Forwarding that’s included with your paid plan.

I see that your domain is already connected via Domain Connection, but it doesn’t have the WordPress.com nameservers. So the email forwarding you set up will not work. You can consider using WordPress.com nameservers on your domain to get email forwarding to start working.

    The WordPress.com nameservers are:

    ns1.wordpress.com
    ns2.wordpress.com
    ns3.wordpress.com

You can contact your domain registrar and ask them to do this for you, or you can do it yourself from the domain registrar’s website. The domain registrar is the company where you registered the domain.

Note that this change can take up to 72 hours to take effect.

Hope that helps! Feel free to let us know if you have more questions.
