Using chevrons within text – native editor issue

  I have come across a very frustrating behaviour in the native editor.

  I wrote a draft page in the wysiwyg editor which included <chevrons>. I have found that when I switch to the HTML editor the chevrons are not translated to the equivalent < and > HTML codes. When previewing the page or opening in the wysiwyg editor the information is completely gone.

  I have tried adding the HTML codes directly in the HTML editor and this works, BUT when I then reopen the HTML editor the tags disappear again.

  Very frustrating!
