using domain name I own
-
I bought the domain name on GoDaddy. I know you use Godaddy. Why do I have to go through hoops of fire to transfer my domain? It should be simple. It’s not. Advise

Good Morning –
The domain transfer process is dictated by ICANN regulation and all domain registrars have to follow those. It’s not something that we can specifically control.
In order to transfer a domain to us it must be 60 days old. GoDaddy can help you sort out the registration date if unsure.
There’s actually 2 ways to transfer the domain. You can use a transfer as described: https://en.support.wordpress.com/incoming-domain-transfer/
Or, you could map it to us. This would be the way to go if the domain is not eligible for a transfer quite yet. https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-existing-domain/
Both of these options will require a plan be added to your account. The personal plan will work fine: https://wordpress.com/pricing/
Write back with follow up questions. Happy to help.
