Using my own domain but net yet…

    Hi,
    I already have a website for my business but I want to make a new one by my self with WordPress. So I already own my domain. Is it possible for me to creat a new website not using this domain and as soon as my new one is ready transfert the domain name on the new website? If so, how do I do that ?

    Hi Gab,

    I want to make a new one by my self with WordPress.

    There are two types of WordPress — WordPress.com (hosted with us) and WordPress.org (self hosted version). There is some information about the main differences between the two here:

    WordPress.com vs. WordPress.org

    On WordPress.com, you could start by creating a free site, adding content and choosing a theme etc. The domain can be mapped or transferred to WordPress.com when you are ready to make the switch at a later date.

    Custom domains are a feature of paid plans and the domain credit included would cover the cost of one of the options above.
