Using "Report content to WordPress.com staff" form

    Greetings!

I would like to ask you a few clarifying questions about the procedure of reporting a website content.

As far as I know, filing a complaint on a website’s content is done through this form: https://wordpress.com/abuse/ . Unfortunately, WordPress User Guidelines and Terms of Service are not providing any estimated time frames for reviewing a complaint. If possible, I would like to know at least some approximate amount of time needed to consider a complaint, even if it doesn’t lead to removal/editing of a content. How long does it usually take to make a final decision?

I carefully read the User Guidelines and it says that a website can be reported if it posts someone’s personal information without their consent. Which exactly kind of information can be considered as private? E.g. if someone is using a photo of me or my phone number without my permission, should I report this content?

Are there any other ways to send a report? If so, is there any specific regulation of doing it?

Also I understand that every case is unique and interpretations are solely up to WordPress staff, but I would like to know are there any general criteria for making a decision.

    Thanks!

  • Hi there,

We are not able to help directly with this request in our public forums, as it is handled by our Trust and Safety team via email. Because of this you are encouraged to report your case at the link you gave: https://wordpress.com/abuse/

We do not have a timeline for when it would be reviewed, as we take them in the order we receive them, but every abuse report is reviewed by a human, and you can count on the fact that our team will send you a response of their findings.

    Thanks!
