Using WordPress and a Search Map

    Hi there,
    I joined a company that has a search functionality with a map view. The website is run by developers. I am a marketer and woudl like to be able to manage the non map pages of the website.

    Is there a way for the engineering team to have access and control the home page and all map view and search results pages but the rest of the website is managed on WordPress.

    I’ve heard of setting up such that anything after a certain word is on WP. such as abc.com/pages — so every URL that’s on WordPress would be abc.com/pages/about-us, abc.com/pages/contact-us . I prefer not to have to use a random word after the root domain.

    Does anyone know any other way that I can set this up?
    I’d like to build out more pages and have our blog on WordPress but have the development team manage the home page and main map and search pages.

    Any help or suggestions would be awesome.

    Hi there,

    What you’re describing is possible but not on our platform. On WordPress.com you cannot map a site to a subdirectory (abc.com/site/). You can only map a site to a subdomain (site.abc.com).

    If you absolutely want the subdirectory structure you’ll need to use the WordPress software and host the site on another provider that allows that. To get more information about that you can post in the official WordPress.org forums:
