verification issues

  Hi, I am having issues setting up my new website as the systems keep asking me to verify via sms but I never receive an SMS. I have tried changing my phone nummer but no progress. Can you please assist me so I can start setting up the site. Appreciate your help. Thank you

  Hi there,

  What exactly are you trying to do that requires SMS verification?

  We don’t require a phone number in order to create a WordPress.com account or site. The only time we’ll ask for a phone number is if you buy a paid upgrade or if you enable two-step authentication on your account, and only the latter requires confirmation.

  Completing two-step verification, while a good idea and strongly recommended, is not a requirement in order to work on your site.

  Hi, Thank you for your reply. Its correct its the two step verification code that is causing the issue for me. How do I turn that off?

  You can disable two-step authentication from your account settings:

  https://wordpress.com/me/security/two-step/

  You’ll need to enter a code to do that, though, either one received via SMS, or using one of the backup codes that were generated when you first set that up.

  If you again don’t receive the code when you try to do that, let me know and I can check our logs. But it doesn’t look like you’ve done anything that triggered a code to be sent for at least a week, so at the moment there aren’t any recent logs I can check.
