Video upload – format problem.

I can’t upload any videos in my post. When I clicked the insert video icon, and wanted to choose the file, the files didn’t appear. The reason is coz it doesn’t say that it supports the format of my video format, which is avi. It says there it supports audio files like wma, mp3 and so on. Why?? Do I have to get a video upgrade before I’m able to upload videos in my post?

Yes, to be able to upload videos here at wordpress.COM, you have to have the videopress upgrade.
You can however upload your videos to vimeo, or dailymotion, or youtube or vodpod and then use the video shortcodes to put the videos into your posts or pages. That way you do not have to pay any money.
The following link explains the video press upgrade, and in the blue “related” section are links to the different video sharing sites that wordpress supports via their shortcodes.
