Viewers access

Is there a way for a viewer to view a post if they don’t have a wordpress.com account?
Blog url: http://whazzuppsf.wordpress.com/The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)
-
If the blog is public, anyone can view it. If the blog is Private, they’ll need to have a WordPress.com account in order to be invited to the private blog. Otherwise, we have no way of keeping track of who can vs. who cannot view your blog.

Thanks for the response. It was very helpful. I have changed the setting from private, but now the link to accept the invitation is not working. Any ideas?

I have done this 3 times now. I have even completely closed down my browser and tried it again.

I don’t see any attempts to send invitations from your blog.
Please try sending the invite from Users -> Invite New in the blog’s Dashboard. When an invitation is send, it will be recording on the same page.
Or, are you not referring to the blog mentioned above?

I deleted the old invitation and resent. I just sent a new one and also sent one to another person. The invitation to (email visible only to moderators and staff) is still not working. I am waiting to hear from the other one.

You’re just inviting them as Followers, not users on the blog.
If you want them to view the blog when it’s private, the blog needs to be set as Private via Settings -> Privacy, then you need to invite them as Viewers.
Followers will not be able to see the blog when it is made private.

I understand that, which is why I changed to settings to not be private any more. I don’t want people to have to sign up to view the blog. I had to resend the email to (email visible only to moderators and staff) before it went through to her, but once she received it the invitation worked. It is still not working for (email visible only to moderators and staff), though.

Ok, for aread, add the Follow Blog widget to your blog’s sidebar via Appearance -> Widgets and ask him to try entering his email address there.
