Visibility "Sticky"

I’m setting my post visibility to Sticky and it’s not working. When I got to my blog I don’t see my most recent post on my home page. I have to go to ‘About’ and then recent posts on the side to see it. I’ve not had this problem before.

Hi there,
I found that all your posts are sticky. Is there a reason for this? This may be causing the issue. If you remove sticky on all your posts your latest one will be at the top.
Please note that Sticky is meant for posts that you want at the top no matter your latest post. So if you have all your posts as sticky there’s no point in having it marked as sticky. Take a look at the guide on sticky posts.

Hi! Thank you for the response. Well, my husband first started blogging on word press so when I decided to he gave me the rundown and said he makes all of his ‘sticky’ so they end up as the first post on the home page. He has a LOT more blog posts than I do and I don’t believe he’s ever had this issue. Thank you for the guide on sticky posts, I didn’t know that the latest post automatically goes to the top of the page. Do you recommend I mark the other posts not as sticky? My latest post is titled Sleepless in Seattle and it isn’t even shown on my home page.

Yes I’d remove all the stickies unless you want them to be stickies. Normally I leave those for announcements to my readers.
You can do this by bulk so that you don’t have to do it for every post. Go to Posts > All Posts in your Dashboard and check off all the posts by clicking on the box next to Title. When you do that it will tick off every post. Then go to the Bulk Actions dropdown and select Edit. Click Apply, and then you will see the Sticky dropdown on the right hand side. It will look like this:
Then click Not Sticky and hit Update. Then you will see your posts in order from latest to oldest.
But as you said, technically it should all show up even if it they are all marked sticky. What’s strange is that I’ve created a test blog with your same exact theme and marked all my posts as sticky. But, for some reason it’s not reproducing the same error as yours.
The only difference I see is the number of tags you used in your latest post. Please note that any more than 15 tags will not be shown in the WordPress.com Reader. This means that when readers search for the tags you listed, your post will not be shown. You can read more about why here:

I highly suggest limiting your tags to less than 15.

I REALLY appreciate your help and detailed instructions. I followed them all (made posts not sticky and limited # of tags) and it seems to have fixed the issue. My latest post is now showing on my home page and is the first post. Thank you so much and have a great day!!
