Want to backup my site on Vault Press
-
I wanted to use Vault Press to backup my site but I can’t find a place to install the plug-in for that. Suggestions?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

VaultPress is a feature for self-hosted WordPress sites. WordPress.com sites are already backed up with the same system that powers VaultPress.
Is there a particular need that was making you interested in VaultPress? Or just the security of knowing that your site was backed up?
-
Basically the security of knowing I had an extra offline backup in case something catastrophic happened to the WordPress site.

You can always export a copy of your site in order to create an offline backup:
That might suit your needs.

Thanks. Will this backup have everything I would need to restore my site to its exact pre-crash configurations?
-
No, this is more of a copy of your site’s content.
If there is a crash that takes down your site, that would mean millions of other WordPress.com sites would also be down and we would be restoring things on a server level with our own backup systems.
There is no real way for a single WordPress.com site to crash while the rest were still operational. That is one of those things that you would need to worry about a lot more with a self-hosted WordPress.org site.
-
Sure. But basically if all the sites crashed and WordPress restored all the configurations, if necessary I could use my backup to restore all my content?
-
In the very unlikely event that such a thing happened and that we did not ourselves restore that backup, then yes. You would be able to restore your content.
