Want to change my url
-
I was messing around with setting up a site and playing around with potential web addresses and accidentally set one up with a URL I don’t want. I’d like to keep the site but change the URL to another one that is available according the WordPress search tool. Can I change this when I upgrade to professional an lose the ‘.wordpress’ nomenclature? I looked into just deleting the site but don’t want to wait 30 days to get things up and running.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
The 30-day limit is when you delete your entire account. If you delete a free WordPress.com address, that address can be restored for 30 days, but thereafter the address is gone for good, and you won’t be able to use it again.
But it sounds like you’re actually planning to add a custom domain, correct? In that case, the free WordPress.com URL doesn’t matter.
All WordPress.com sites have a free URL – the site cannot exist without it. But if you add a custom domain as part of a paid plan, the free address gets hidden and visitors to your site won’t see it.
You can also change the free URL, but you can only change to another free URL that has never been registered before, and the old one will be permanently disabled as part of the process:

Let me know if you have any questions about this.
