Want to change to custom domain from a free wordpress.com domain

    I have my primary domain as http://www.sreelakshmikitchen.wordpress.com. I want to change it to custom domain. what are the procedures to do it ? While surfing, I came to know that either upgrading to a paid plan or adding a domain are the ways to do it.
    1. How to purchase a domain from WordPress and add it automatically? What is the cost for it ?
    If I want to apply for wordpress Ad sense
    1.what is the minimum traffic needed ?
    2.how old the blog should be?
    3. Is it mandatory to upgrade for a plan to apply for wordpress Adsense or is it enough to purchase a domain via wordpress and add it to our blog?
    3. Which is the exact upgrade plan that support us to apply for WordPress Adsense ? Does 2.99$ per month plan, allow us to apply for WordPress Adsense?
